Drake's passage - Antarctic Convergence - Southern Shetland Islands - Antarctic Peninsula

Ushuaia – Day 1

Reception at the airport and transportation to the hotel.
Day off.

Ushuaia - Day 2

In the afternoon, you will get on board the icebreaker to start sailing towards Antarctica through the Beagle Channel.

Drake's Passage - Southern Shetland Islands - Days 3 to 5

You will cross the Drakes's Passage towards the Southern Shetland Islands. On the way you can see different types of birds and marine fauna, such as: albatross, petrels, whales, and dolphins.  You will cross the Antarctic Convergence.
Arriving to the Southern Shetland Islands, you will be able to see the huge penguin colonies, sea lions, and elephant seals.  Here you can see the only plants that grow in the area, moss, and lichen.

Antarctic Peninsula - Days 6 to 9

The Antarctic Peninsula is the most reachable part of the White Continent.  Apart from the magnificent landscape of mountains and ice, we can closely watch different types of penguins:   Barbijo, Papua and Adelia, as well as different sea birds.  Among the seals, you will be able to see the cangreja (crab) seal, the Weddell Seal, and the leopard seal; and, among the cetacean, the agile Hunchbacked and Minke whales, and possibility killer whales.

Drake's Passage - Days 10 to 11

We will start the navigation back through the Drake's Passage.

Ushuaia - Day 12

Disembarkation at the Ushuaia Port, and transportation to the airport.
